House Aerospace Caucus Celebrates Space Force Anniversary

Washington, December 20, 2023 | Roman Rodriguez (316-262-8992)
Today, in recognition of the 4th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. Space Force, Reps. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) and Salud Carbajal (D-California), co-chairs of the House Aerospace Caucus, issued the following statements.

"As our nation, and others around the world, become more engaged in space, pursuing our national interests and maintaining our national security in the final frontier is paramount," said Rep. Estes. "For four years, the United States Space Force has been securing our nation’s interests in, from and to space, and I'm grateful to the men and women of the Space Force for their hard work and service to our nation."

"As the proud representative of the Guardians serving our nation at Vandenberg Space Force Base, I'm happy to join Rep. Estes and my other Aerospace Caucus colleagues in wishing the Space Force a very happy birthday! Over the past four years, the Space Force has been the indispensable eyes and ears of our nation in space, and has safeguarded our freedoms and way of life that have become even more reliant on the assets we have far above our own heads," said Rep. Carbajal. "I look forward to seeing what the fifth year of our newest service branch brings!"

Since the mid-1950s the United States has maintained military capabilities dedicated to protecting and advancing U.S. interests in space. In 2019, the National Defense Authorization Act provided for the creation of a dedicated Space Force under the United States Space Force Act.
