.Kansan Michelle Bowman was sworn into the Federal Reserve Board as Vice Chair of Supervision last week. I was happy to attend her swearing-in ceremony. Michelle will continue to bring Kansan common sense to the Federal Reserve.

Nick Hague, NASA astronaut and fellow Kansan, stopped by my office last week. He brought me a miniature version of the Kansas state flag that he took to space. I’m grateful that he is representing the Sunflower State well, both on the ground and in outer space.

On Tuesday, I met with the National Foreign Trade Council to discuss international tax policy. Later in the week, I also met with the American Cancer Society and COABE, advocates for adult education, in my D.C. office.
Recently Growth Energy, supporters of American biofuels, presented me with an award for being a champion of Fueling Growth, specifically for championing homegrown American ethanol. Kansas ethanol producers make biofuels that benefit the environment and the economy, while also providing consumers with more options at the gas pump.
