.Wichita was ranked the number one city for aerospace and defense manufacturing out of nearly 400 competitive metropolitan areas. Our Air Capital of the World continues to lead the way in building the aircraft that transport people and goods through the skies and develop the innovative defense products that protect our nation.

Just two months ago, Boeing announced that they were going to invest $1 billion into Wichita, and before that, I helped Boeing announce their new partnership with WSU Tech to increase education opportunities to expand our skilled workforce. 

Part of why Boeing and other aerospace companies continue to invest in American communities is because of Republicans’ historic Working Families Tax Cut. Our legislation created permanency in the tax code which supports manufacturers and innovators to set their roots in the U.S. I was happy to support that legislation last summer, which also created the largest tax cut in history and delivered tax cuts for 96% of Kansans. 

Wichita continues to lead the world in aerospace production, and I will continue to advocate for policies that support our great Air Capital! You can read more about Wichita being ranked number one for aerospace and defense manufacturing here.

.This year’s Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney was a great celebration of our community and brought so many Kansans together. The annual event is one of my favorites to attend. I enjoy connecting with constituents from Cheney and across the county, visiting the different exhibits, and seeing the next generation of Kansas farmers compete in 4-H competitions.

Ag is woven into Kansas’ history and everyday life, which is why I proudly supported the 2026 Farm Bill. The bill provides thousands of jobs for rural Kansans, will expand credit options for farmers and funds new technologies to support rural communities. The bill is not yet law, and it awaits further action in the Senate.

.Every year, I look forward to appointing talented young men and women from the 4th district to the prestigious U.S. Service Academies, including the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Appointees receive a full-ride scholarship and a world-class education, and they commit to serving for five years upon graduation.
