.With the deadline just a week away, I want to make sure every talented young artist in our district has the chance to showcase their work. Each year, I’m impressed by the students from across the district who enter, and it’s incredible to see the creativity that young Kansans bring to life. I strongly encourage all high school students to finalize their pieces and be part of this unique competition. I’m looking forward to seeing the work that will represent the Sunflower State in the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.

High school students in Kansas’ 4th District can submit up to two art pieces for my competition. The deadline to submit your artwork is Tuesday, March 31, 2026. All submissions that meet the criteria will be displayed at Mark Arts in Wichita from April 10 to May 2, with a special reception on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m. The winning piece will be displayed for one year alongside winners from across the country.

.For decades, the Iranian regime has posed a direct and deadly threat to the United States, and Iran continues to be the leading state sponsor of terrorism around the globe. America stands firmly against terrorist regimes that directly threaten our homeland, citizens, and allies, and the President has demonstrated a commitment to protect American lives, deter aggression, and prevent hostile regimes from projecting terror across the globe.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of three members of the Ohio Air National Guard and three members of the 99th Air Refueling Squadron. Their dedication to service will not be forgotten, and my heart goes out to their families and fellow airmen during this period of profound grief.

All six crew members were aboard a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft that went down in western Iraq. The aircraft was lost while flying over friendly airspace on March 12 during Operation Epic Fury, and the incident is actively being investigated by the Department of War at this time. United States Central Command has clarified that neither hostile nor friendly fire were factors in the incident. This tragedy weighs heavy in the hearts of many Kansans, as the KC-135 has a long history and connection to our state. McConnell Air Force Base began flying the KC-135 in 1994, and ever since has supported critical aerial refueling and airlift operations across the globe with the 22nd Air Refueling Wing and the 931st Air Refueling Wing. Further, the 190th Air Refueling Wing has operated the KC-135 since 1978 in support of this critical mission for the United States.

.Yesterday on National Agriculture Day, we honored the hardworking farmers, ranchers and producers across Kansas’ 4th District who serve as the backbone of our economy and the stewards of our land. From the vast wheat fields to our thriving livestock operations, the dedication of our agricultural community ensures a stable and secure food supply for families not just in the Sunflower State, but across our nation.

As your representative in Congress, I remain committed to supporting policies that protect our family farms and ensure that the next generation of Kansas farmers and producers can continue the proud legacy of feeding the world.
