Each year the House of Representatives hosts the Congressional App Challenge. The 2024 Challenge has officially launched, and students can register and submit their original apps now through Oct. 24 at 11 a.m.
The competition offers an opportunity for middle and high school students to showcase their creativity and technical skill by submitting an app that they created in the last calendar year, either for a class project, extracurricular activity, or specifically for the App Challenge. Students living in or attending school in Kansas’ 4th District are eligible to compete as individuals or teams of up to four. The winning app will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building and featured on house.gov.
To be eligible to participate in this year’s Congressional App Challenge, you must be a middle or high school student at the time of app submission. Students may use any programing language (e.g., C, C++, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, “block code,” etc.) and any platform (PC, web, tablet, robot, mobile, etc.) to showcase their work. There are no limits to the app theme or topic.
