Estes on "Big Six" Tax Reform Statement

Washington, DC – Congressman Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement responding to the "Big Six" statement on tax reform:

"Today’s announcement from President Trump and congressional leaders shows that Republicans are committed to reforming our broken tax code that is hurting middle-class families and sending American jobs overseas. America's tax code hasn’t been updated in more than 30 years. During that time our economy has moved from the industrial age to the digital age. It’s long past time for our tax code to catch up."

"I stand ready to work with Speaker Ryan and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Brady as they begin to turn many good ideas into legislative language. The Republican plan is built on three legs – fairness, simplicity, and competitiveness – that will give all Americans a step up. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to get tax reform right. That’s precisely what we intend to do."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
