WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after the Senate overwhelmingly approved the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement 89-10 today:
"Passage of the USMCA in the Senate today is another great win for the American people. After an initial announcement by President Trump more than a year ago, Kansas farmers, manufacturers and workers will finally begin to reap the positive benefits this free and fair trade deal will bring. Following the overwhelming bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, I'm eager for the President to sign this agreement and am grateful for his follow-through on this commitment to America's workforce." Rep. Estes serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees trade, and is a fierce advocate for free and fair trade. He served as a member of the Republican Whip team to ensure passage of the USMCA in the House. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
