Rep. Estes Addresses Funding and Preparation to Combat the Threat of Coronavirus

Washington, February 26, 2020 | Roman Rodriguez (316-262-8992)
WASHINGTON-Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement concerning the threat of coronavirus and the actions taken by the United States:

"The president and the administration are taking the appropriate steps to keep Americans safe," said Rep. Estes. "I’ve been in contact with health officials at the federal level as well as in Kansas, ensuring that the $2.5 billion in requested funding positions us to manage the threat of the coronavirus sufficiently. While we know this is a serious medical situation, the U.S. is taking aggressive measures to contain the coronavirus and prepare for future developments. Kansans should continue exercising routine preventive actions that are good practice to prevent the spread of any respiratory disease."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
