WASHINGTON–Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement regarding today's national emergency declaration:

“President Trump’s decision to declare a national emergency today provides confidence to all Americans as we combat COVID-19,” said Rep. Estes. “The administration’s actions, along with the bipartisan work we’ve done in Congress, are aggressive and effective. These new actions will greatly increase the federal government’s ability to assist affected individuals rapidly and slow the spread of the virus. The collaboration between the public and private sector is also encouraging as we work together to keep families safe.”
