Rep. Estes Votes For Coronavirus Assistance Package

WASHINGTON–Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after last night's passage of the Coronavirus Response Act:

"In the early morning hours, the House finally voted on a relief package that ensures Americans have access to free COVID-19 testing and financial relief for those who are ill, quarantined, or caring for others due to the coronavirus," said Rep. Estes. "These are priorities for the president and for Congress. My colleagues and I fought against the majority’s desire to expand this bill well beyond the bounds of the COVID-19 outbreak and play politics with the lives of the American people. Thankfully, we’ve been able to work together to limit the size and scope of this legislation so that it actually benefits those impacted by the coronavirus. The bill is not perfect, but it helps Kansas families now and in the near future, and compliments the unprecedented actions the president already took this week to mitigate the health and economic impact of this pandemic. Kansans should feel confident in the steps that government agencies, medical professionals and businesses are taking to keep your families safe."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
