WASHINGTON–Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement applauding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) award of $5.9 million to Kansas to support the statewide COVID-19 response:
"I've been working closely with state and local officials to ensure that they have the resources they need to keep Kansans safe," said Rep. Estes. "Two weeks ago, Congress passed the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act to make necessary funding available. I'm glad that $5.9 million in funding will go directly to the state of Kansas, and I will continue to advocate for local and rural health care." More information about these funds can be found in a letter CDC sent to state health officers. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
