WASHINGTON–Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) joined his colleagues on the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) in sending a letter to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Salman urging him to take action to restore stability to the global oil market. The letter was in response to a month of market volatility due to the increase in cheap oil output from Saudi Arabia “The recent actions taken by Saudi Arabia were dangerous for the American and global economies during the growing health crisis,” said Rep. Estes. “I hope Saudi Arabia and other oil producers keep their promise and take action to restore stability to global crude oil markets.” Today, Saudi Arabia and Russia have reportedly agreed to work on a deal to cut oil production. The full text of the letter, along with the full list of signers, can be found here. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
