WASHINGTON–Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement concerning the Paycheck Protection Program's depletion of funds.
"Kansas workers and small businesses are hurting, and the Paycheck Protection Program started providing needed relief for the Sunflower State," said Rep. Estes. "Since this popular fund has been exhausted, Congress should be laser-focused on passing a clean bill that puts more money into this program now. Speaker Pelosi and congressional Democrats need to stop playing political games and come to the table to pass this much-needed funding immediately." Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, making an initial $349 billion in funding available to the Small Business Administration for this program. The initial funding allowed 1.6 million small businesses to receive loans and keep their employees on the payroll. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
