Estes Honored to Receive Congressional Financial Freedom Award

Washington, October 12, 2017 | Rob Kuhlman (202-225-6216)

WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement upon  receiving the Congressional Financial Freedom Award from the State Financial Officers Foundation:

“It is a true honor to receive the Congressional Financial Freedom Award. I'm committed to efficiency, accountability, and real results from government. All too often our government spends money without thinking twice,” said Rep. Estes. “This isn't how it should work. We need to bring back fiscal responsibility to Washington.”

Derek Kreifels, President State Financial Officers Foundation, released the following statement:

"Congressman Estes is one of the finest and hardest working public servants in the nation. As Kansas State Treasurer he was known as the "fiscal hawk," which was well-deserved. Now he's bringing that same eye for efficiency, accountability, results and free markets to the halls of Congress. The people of Kansas's 4th congressional district are lucky to have him on their side."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
