Rep. Estes Announces $6 Million in Emergency Funding for Kansas

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced $6 million in Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) for the state of Kansas. This funding was included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will be distributed by the United States Department of Justice.

“Kansas has the full support of the federal government during this health crisis,” said Rep. Estes. “This funding can be used for staff, PPE, and other COVID-19-related needs of Kansans. I encourage the state to work with local governments to ensure that communities receive the appropriate assistance needed.”

Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which includes $850 million in CESF funding to be made available to state, local and tribal governments. More information about this funding can be found here.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
