Rep. Estes Reacts to Senate Passage of Additional Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Funding

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement regarding the Senate passage of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act:

"Kansas small businesses and their employees need relief during this crisis, and thankfully the Senate just voted to add $310 billion to the successful Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The additional support includes $60 billion for vital community banks and credit unions to lend PPP dollars, and it ensures that farmers and ranchers are eligible for Emergency Economic Injury Disaster (EIDL) grants and loans. This bill also includes $100 billion for hospitals and testing.

"Two weeks ago, Republicans requested this additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program. Unfortunately, partisanship held up this much-needed relief. I look forward to voting on this legislation in the House this week and delivering it to the President’s desk quickly. It’s critical to continue keeping more small businesses open and Americans employed."
