Estes Statement on Iran Nuclear Deal

Washington, October 13, 2017 | Rob Kuhlman (202-225-6216)

WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement following President Trump’s announcement of a new strategy on Iran:

“Since 1979, the regime in Iran has brutalized its own people and spread terrorism around the globe,” said Rep. Estes. “It should come as no surprise that this regime has violated the nuclear deal and denied inspectors access to its militarized nuclear facilities. I’m glad to see our president treat Iran like what it is: a repressive regime that cannot be trusted. America must rally the international community to condemn the actions of the Iranian regime and to do what it takes to deny them from obtaining nuclear weapons.”

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
