WICHITA – Today, Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced FEMA's delivery of 550,000 N95 masks and 13,000 Tyvek suits to the state of Kansas. FEMA and the coordinated public-private partnership Project Air Bridge have already delivered 153,544 N95 masks, 987,178 surgical and procedural masks, 71,007 eye and face shields, 298,859 medical gowns and coveralls, and 13,922,446 gloves as of April 22.
"Kansans are so grateful for the dedication of our medical professionals on the front lines fighting this disease each and every day," said Rep. Estes. "Congress and the Trump administration have committed to providing these heroes with the equipment they need to stay safe during this pandemic, and this week's delivery of hundreds of thousands of more PPE is a testament to the ongoing collaboration between providers, the state of Kansas and the federal government." Rep. Estes supported funding for PPE in the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. He has been in regular communication with FEMA and HHS to ensure Kansas receives critical PPE.
