WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced more than $382 million in grants for rural hospitals in Kansas as part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Provider Relief fund. This funding is in addition to $70 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding that has already been awarded to health care providers in Kansas’ 4th District. “Many Kansans rely on small, rural hospitals and clinics for health care,” said Rep. Estes. “I’m glad that Congress and the Trump administration can provide emergency relief for many of these providers during this unprecedented time. I will continue to prioritize and work to meet the needs of rural health providers in Congress.” Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which made $100 billion available specifically for rural hospitals. More information can be found here. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
