Rep. Estes Announces $1.25 Million in Emergency Funding for Wichita

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced $1.25 million in Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) for the City of Wichita. This funding is in addition to the $6 million in CESF funding received by the state of Kansas from the Department of Justice.

“COVID-19 has critically impacted Wichita and our economy,” said Rep. Estes. “This funding can be used for staff, PPE, and other COVID-19-related needs of Wichita. During this heath crisis, I’ve been inspired by the strength and tenacity of our community, and the CESF funding will assist in fighting this pandemic and reopening Kansas.”

Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which includes $850 million in CESF funding to be made available to state, local and tribal governments. More information about this funding can be found here.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
