Rep. Estes Statement on CMS Guidelines to Resume Non-COVID-19-Related Health Care

WASHINGTON – This week the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued new guidelines for patients and health care providers to safely resume in-person care for those with non-COVID-19 related needs.

“For months, hospitals and health care providers across Kansas have limited in-person care due to COVID-19, severely impacting both patients and providers,” said Rep. Estes.

“It’s critical that Kansans can safely receive needed care, preventive services and elective procedures. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that hospitals have the resources they need to reopen, including access to testing, PPE, and liability reform.”

Health care providers can find the new guidelines from CMS here. Patients can learn more here.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
