WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced $38,402,487 in CARES Act funding for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
“Safe, reliable transportation is crucial as Kansans return to work and businesses begin to reopen,” said Rep. Estes. “I voted for the CARES Act to ensure that Kansas and our communities are receiving necessary funding to recover from the recent health pandemic and I’m glad that the Trump administration has prioritized our state.” KDOT can use this funding for state administration, safe operating measures, and capital assistance for public transit providers. Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which included $25 billion in funding for transit agencies. More information on FTA grants can be found here. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
