WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement as the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement entered into force today.
"The USMCA is an exceptional agreement for Kansas farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, workers and consumers," said Rep. Estes. "After delays in the Democratic-led House, our three countries will finally realize the benefits of this free and fair trade agreement that will boost our economy and create new jobs in the United States. Passing this agreement was critical for Kansans, and thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Trade Ambassador Lighthizer, we were able to make this agreement a reality." Rep. Estes serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees trade, and is a fierce advocate for free and fair trade. He served as a member of the USMCA Whip team to ensure passage of this historic trade agreement. Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. |
