Rep. Estes Announces Economic Development Funds for Kansas

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced two Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for Kansas’ 4th Congressional District. These low-cost loans will aid small businesses and entrepreneurs with administrative and emergency costs associated with COVID-19.

“The economic shutdown caused by the recent global health crisis brought devastating unexpected revenue loss for small businesses in Kansas and across the country,” said Rep. Estes. “I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues in Congress and the Trump administration to bring support to local businesses and their workers.”

The first fund of $1,780,000 will benefit Butler, Chautauqua, Cowley, Elk, Harper, Harvey, Greenwood, Kingman, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Reno, Sedgwick, and Sumner Counties. The second fund of $520,000 will support businesses in Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Cherokee, Coffey, Crawford, Labette, Linn, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson Counties.

The EDA’s Revolving Loan Program intends to alleviate economic burden caused by COVID-19 and provide permanent resources for long-term economic health. Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, which provided the funding for this program.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
