Rep. Estes Accepts 'Medicare Advantage Champion of the Year' Award

WASHINGTON – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) was honored as a "Medicare Advantage Champion of the Year" by the Better Medicare Alliance, the nation's leading research and advocacy organization supporting Medicare Advantage. He accepted the award at a virtual event on July 28. Rep. Estes was among a bipartisan group of only eight honorees in the U.S. Congress.

"It's an honor to receive the Champion of the Year award from Better Medicare Alliance,"said Rep. Estes. "Medicare Advantage gives seniors peace of mind and comprehensive coverage at an affordable rate. I'll continue to champion seniors and ensure the programs designed for them are working fairly and efficiently."

"Kansas seniors deserve to know who is standing up for their health coverage on Capitol Hill. On behalf of our nearly 500,000 grassroots advocates nationwide, we're proud to honor Representative Estes with our 'Medicare Advantage Champion of the Year' award for doing exactly that,"said Allyson Y. Schwartz, President and CEO of the Better Medicare Alliance. "Like each of this year's awardees, Representative Estes has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to protect and strengthen the high-quality, affordable and innovative care offered by Medicare Advantage. With Medicare Advantage beneficiaries reporting a 99% satisfaction rating and nearly $1,600 in cost savings per year, we look forward to continuing to work alongside leaders like Representative Estes to champion seniors and improve health care financing and delivery through a strong and sustained Medicare Advantage."

The "Medicare Advantage Champion of the Year" award recognizes lawmakers who have worked in a bipartisan fashion to strengthen and protect Medicare Advantage, the public-private partnership in Medicare relied on today by more than 24 million seniors and Americans with disabilities. There are more than 28,000 Medicare Advantage beneficiaries in Kansas' 4th Congressional District alone.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
