Rep. Estes Calls on Supreme Court to Hear 2020 Election Case
Washington,
December 9, 2020
WASHINGTON – Rep. Estes released the following statement calling on the United States Supreme Court to hear the recent lawsuit filed by the State of Texas regarding the 2020 election.
"Americans deserve free and fair elections that uphold our Constitution, where all legal votes are counted. I am pleased to hear that Kansas will be joining 16 other states in an amicus brief that encourages the Supreme Court to hear a critical case concerning the most recent and future elections. Regardless of party, all citizens should have confidence in the electoral process, and I am working with my House GOP colleagues to file an amicus brief that also encourages the Supreme Court to take up this case. We are blessed to live in this great nation, and a constitutional, fair election ensures that we can continue upholding the principles and values that our Founding Fathers established more than 200 years ago." |
