Rep. Estes Reacts to New House Rules Established by the Democratic Majority

WASHINGTON –  Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after the House passed the rules package for the 117th Congress.

"Speaker Pelosi and the House Democrats passed a blatantly partisan rules package – with a slim majority vote – to undermine the voice of the minority party in the House. The new rules limit the minority party's ability to amend legislation, exempts climate change legislation from budget rules, and prohibits gendered language like "mother" and "father." The hardworking Kansans of the 4th District deserve fair representation – instead, this is a misguided attempt by Washington's elite to silence America's heartland and put Pelosi's power over people."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
