Estes Votes to Uphold Second Amendment

Washington, December 6, 2017 | Rob Kuhlman (202-225-6216)

WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement following House passage of H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act:

"Kansans shouldn't have their Constitutional rights restricted simply because they travel out of state. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act protects Kansans' Second Amendment right by ensuring that anyone who is allowed to possess a concealed handgun in our state can carry in another state that permits concealed carry," said Rep. Estes.

"This bill was the first piece of legislation I cosponsored after being sworn into Congress and I am glad to support its passage today."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
