WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm Governor Brownback to be Ambassador for International Religious Freedom:

"Now, more than ever, our nation must remain committed to ensuring religious freedom is defended around the globe," said Rep. Estes.

"I believe Sam Brownback’s commitment to the dignity of human life and the inalienable right of religious freedom will assist him in advancing those freedoms and reducing religious persecution around the world."

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
