Rep. Estes Supports Common Sense Border Security

WASHINGTON – Today Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) voted in support of H.R. 2 – the Secure the Border Act.

"For the past two years, the Biden administration has completely ignored the growing crisis at our southern border, implementing policies that increased illegal immigration and allowed for deadly drugs like fentanyl to flow deep into our country," said Rep. Estes. "Republicans made a commitment to address the undeniable chaos by enacting common sense measures that will secure the border and combat illegal immigration."

The House passed H.R. 2 today by a vote of 219 to 213. The Secure the Border Act will force the Biden administration to restart construction of the border wall, deploy technology to the southern and northern border, increase the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay, require transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security, strengthen current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking, end catch and release, end the abuse of executive immigration authority and strengthen and streamline the asylum process.
