Estes on Omnibus Spending Bill Passage

WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after the passage of H.R. 1625:

“Kansans will benefit from several important measures included in the omnibus spending bill, including funding for our military and a 2.4 percent raise for all military personnel, a fix for the ‘grain glitch,’ an exclusion for regulating methane on farms, a delay on burdensome electronic logging provisions for livestock haulers, critical funding for infrastructure and rural broadband, and it leaves funding for Planned Parenthood at the discretion of President Trump rather than automatic renewals for the abortion provider sought by Nancy Pelosi and the democrats,” said Rep. Estes.

“While I supported this measure, I am disappointed that this bill continues to grow the deficit and I will hold the President and GOP leadership accountable for the promises made to get our fiscal house in order.”

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
