WICHITA – Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) has announced the annual Congressional Art Competition dates.
"Each year talented young artists enter their best work in this fun and competitive event for the chance to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol," said Rep. Estes. "We consistently have more than 100 entries from various schools across the district, including public, private, homeschool, urban, and rural schools. Past participants have been energized to see their art on display at Mark Arts in Wichita – an encouragement to keep pursuing and refining their artistic skills. High school students with an interest in the arts should consider entering this distinctive competition."
High school students in Kansas' 4th District may submit up to two art pieces for the competition. The deadline to submit artwork is Thursday, March 28, 2024. All artwork submissions that meet the competition criteria will be displayed at Mark Arts in Wichita April 12 to May 9, with a reception Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. The winning artwork will be framed and shipped to Washington, D.C., to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year along with other winners from around the country. Prizes may be awarded.
