WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un:

“America is once again leading and negotiating from positions of strength thanks to President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,” said Rep. Estes. “While Congress and the American people should ultimately approve any negotiated treaties, we take pride knowing this historic summit has the potential to bring about denuclearization and peace once thought impossible. We are grateful to all who have represented the United States in getting to this historic moment, especially Secretary Pompeo, who has made Kansas and our nation proud.”
