Congressman Estes to Host House Guest Chaplain from Wichita

WASHINGTON—At the request of Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas), Father Dan Spexarth from Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wichita, KS will serve as a guest chaplain to the U.S. House of Representatives on June 26, 2018. Fr. Spexarth will give the opening prayer to Congress that day.

“I am humbled to host Father Spexarth in our nation’s capital and look forward to his prayer over the House of Representatives. As Congress continues to address many complex issues, I am glad we can come together in prayer to seek God’s guidance and wisdom,” said Rep. Estes.

Each Member of Congress can request one guest chaplain per Congress. Fr. Spexarth was born and raised on a farm near Colwich, KS. He has been an ordained minister for more than 30 years and has served the parish of St. Catherine of Siena since 2008.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
