WASHINGTON - Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement after the announcement by President Donald Trump that Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been nominated to serve as a justice on the United States Supreme Court:

“I applaud President Trump’s nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to serve as the next justice on the United States Supreme Court,” said Rep. Ron Estes. “The president has delivered on his promise to nominate a justice who will respect the Constitution, uphold the rule of law and defend the unborn and the second amendment. I look forward to the U.S. Senate rising above scare tactics of those opposed to President Trump and thoughtfully vetting the president’s nominee based on their qualifications and experience.”

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
