WASHINGTON—Representative Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on the confirmation of Robert Wilkie as the new Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs:

“Secretary Robert Wilkie brings a wealth of experience to the Department of Veterans Affairs from growing up in a military family, serving in the Air Force and Navy, and helping lead the department since 2017,” said Rep. Estes. “I look forward to working with incoming Secretary Wilkie to build on the progress of the VA MISSION Act and fulfill our promise to care for and support veterans in Kansas and throughout the country.”

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
