Rep. Estes Votes to Rein in Rogue Judges

Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1526 – the No Rogue Rulings Act (NORRA) Act – by a vote of 219 to 213.

"America has a system of checks and balances within our three branches of government, but rogue, activist judges whose jurisdiction covers a geographic area of our country are setting nationwide injunctions that are an abuse of power, making the judicial branch lopsided," said Rep. Estes. "When activist judges are siding with criminals in this country illegally, it's imperative to stand with the American people and limit the overreach of unelected judges in district courts, restoring the balance to our three branches of government and reaffirming the Supreme Court's role as the proper venue for nationwide rulings."
