WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on reports that troops from Kansas will be among those deployed to support border protection efforts at the U.S.-Mexico border:
“As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, I know that securing our border is key to our national security,” said Rep. Estes. “I am thankful to the members of the Kansas National Guard, the active-duty soldiers stationed at Fort Riley, and all Kansans who will be among the engineers, military police, cooks, medical personnel and others deployed to support efforts to secure our border. These men and women make our state and country proud.” Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security. |
