WASHINGTON—Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on the passing of President George H. W. Bush:
“Susan and I join our nation in mourning the passing of President George H. W. Bush,” said Rep. Estes. “President Bush leaves behind an enduring record of selfless public service from his heroic tenure in the U.S. Navy, and as an ambassador, director of the CIA, Vice President and Commander in Chief. As President, he defended freedom around the globe and America’s values at home. A devoted husband to First Lady Barbara Bush, his contributions to public service are a testament to his love of family and country.” Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Committee on Homeland Security. |
