Rep. Estes Announces Kansas Airport Grants as Part of CARES Act

WICHITA – Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced new funding for airports in Kansas, made available as part of the CARES Act. Over $53 million in grants from the US Department of Transportation will be distributed to 80 airports in Kansas. Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport will receive more than $11.3 million in CARES Act grants.

“Airports in Kansas and across the country are facing hardship through no fault of their own,” said Rep. Estes. “Wichita is the Air Capital of the World, as the aviation industry is a pillar of our economy and community. These grants will ensure that essential safety and capacity projects continue so that airport workers can get back to work when normal flight schedules resume.”

Rep. Estes voted in support of the CARES Act, making $10 billion in grants available for airports. The full list of grant recipients can be found here.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
