Rep. Estes Announces Local Airport Grants for Augusta, Eureka, Kingman, Winfield/Ark City

WICHITA – Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced federal grants for Augusta Municipal Airport in Augusta, Lt. William M. Milliken Airport in Eureka, Clyde Cessna Field Airport in Kingman, and Strother Field in Cowley County between Winfield and Arkansas City. The grants are funded by the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act of 2020.

"Aviation is a critical component to the livelihoods of Kansans, and it's important to maintain the local airports that support general aviation travel," said Rep. Estes. "As we recover from the coronavirus pandemic, grants like these – funded through bipartisan relief legislation last year – will help our local airports recover and survive."

The $48,000 in grants will help cover costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial service payments, and combatting the spread of the coronavirus.

Augusta Municipal Airport will receive $13,000, Lt. William M. Milliken Airport will receive $9,000, Clyde Cessna Field Airport will receive $13,000, and Strother Field will receive $13,000.

Ron Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
