Rep. Estes Announces Funding for Anthony Municipal Airport

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced more than $130,000 in funding for the Anthony Municipal Airport in Anthony, Kansas. This grant is provided by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and supplemented by the CARES Act. “Aviation has been a core industry in Kansas’ 4th district for more than a century,” said Rep. Estes. “As our community recovers from our recent health crisis, we must move forward with essential projects to ensure our region can benefit from safe and reliable air travel.” The Anthony Municipal Airport was awarded $13,079 in CARES Act funding and $117,713 in FAA grants for a total of $130,792 to reimburse the City of Anthony for land purchase that will enable the airport to safely control land use around its runways. Rep. Estes supported the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, making $10 billion in grants available for airports. He has previously announced grants for Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, Colonel James Jabara Airport, Airports in Eureka and Newton, and eleven other airports in rural parts of District 4. |
